Back in 2001, the year I turned 21, life took me to Ithaca New York, I was never a Cornellian unfortunately (Go big red!) I was there working for an architectural practice (HOLT Architects) as part of my sandwich year of the Interior Design course I was doing at Bournemouth University. I got to stay in brand new Cornell Uni digs that hadn’t been completed in time for the start of their college year/semester. Lucky me! While there I got a little home sick for the Cotswolds and my people so I had a red t-shirt made up with white varsity/college style letters stuck on to it to remind me how lucky I was to be there. I wish I had a photo of that T-shirt. Side story, I was wearing said red T-shirt while walking down a street in Chicago with my then boyfriend and a guy said to me ‘he’s the lucky one.’ Made my day. Just made my own day by remembering that…
